PDS 110 Basics of Supply Chain Management (Module 1)

Course Details

Explore the basic concepts in managing the flow of materials in a supply chain. Get a complete overview of material flow, from internal and external suppliers to and from your organization. Topics include: elements of the supply chain, just-in-time (JIT), total quality management (TQM), manufacturing resources planning (MRPII), demand planning, and capacity management.

PDS 142 Execution And Control Of Operations (Module 4)

Course Details

Focus on the areas of prioritizing and sequencing work, executing work plans and implementing controls, reporting activity results, and providing feedback on performance. The course explains techniques for scheduling and controlling production processes, the execution of quality initiatives and continuous improvement plans, and the control and handling of inventories. Topics include: prioritizing and sequencing work, executing plans and implementing controls, authorizing and reporting activities for push and pull systems, evaluating performance and providing feedback.

Will be made available via the APICS-CALGARY Chapter twice a year (June & December).

Registrations for the December 2010 exam sitting will open September 1, 2010.

Note that if you want to take the CSCP exam in Calgary, you will have to do it using Computer Based Testing (CBT) and will have to register on-line at www.pearsonvue.com/apics/

Ron,

A quick note to say thank you for organizing the tour of the CP Intermodal facility. It’s always interesting to get a chance to look around a different facility, and to get a feel for how other systems work. The ride in the big forklift was pretty neat too!
